My name is Dr. Julia Smiley. I'm originally from Rhode Island and am currently living in San Diego, CA after completing my doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University. My studies included modalities like diet and nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy alongside topics of immunology, pathology, pharmacology, neurology, gastroenterology, oncology, rheumatology, cardiovascular health, pulmonology, renal health, male and female reproductive health, and pediatrics. I was also trained in functional medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine which has helped me realize how deeply our conventional system needs options for more holistic and integrative approaches. I am so excited to share naturopathic medicine with people in need of support on their health journey. My passions are working to guide others towards building healthy microbiomes and balanced lifestyles. I have several solid years of clinical experience treating cases like chronic infections, gut issues, hormone imbalances, chronic pain and fatigue, autoimmune diseases, anxiety and depression as well as more acute cases of infection and have been loving witnessing people start to feel better as we work to create a thriving immune system and dig into finding the root cause of symptoms.​ I believe symptoms arise as a catalyst for us to become more whole. It is all about listening to our body and working with our internal systems to cultivate balance, connection and trust in ourselves.
